In 1961, the class of "65" entered Willow Run High as the first freshmen class ever to be in the high school.
The Flyers football team had a record of 5-3 in 1965, making the season their 3rd consecutive winning season. In 1965 Donald Jewell was the Athletic Director that helped lead the Flyers to be the winners that they were. Not forgetting Coach Devlin who trained and coached our 1965 team. The current football field is named for Coach Devlin "Devlin Field". Also in 1965, our basketball team had a record of 14-7, and 1964 the Boy's track team were State Champions. 2006 Boy's track team has gone undefeated.
Willow Run Athletics have great athletic programs to offer our students and on many occassions we build champion athletes. In 1968 Class "B" Champions, also in 1980 the Boy's Varsity Basketball team were Class "B" Champions under the coaching of Coach Ron Tarrant. Also in 1980, Flyers varsity football record was 5-4 what a great year for Willow Run. We can't forget to mention that all these fine athletes begin their athletic training as Willow Run Jets. Our middle school has produced the fine athletes we have today and the years of past.
Willow Run Athletics have a lot to offer our students, like building character, physical health, and to challenge themselves to be the champions we all feel they can be.
